Dan, Big W

If you could pick one gift from Noosa Civic this Father’s Day, what would it be?

The range of Famjams (matching PJ’s for the whole family) at Big W will be perfect for a Fathers Day sleep in! The Couch Potato set is a bit of a laugh to share with the Family.

How do you best enjoy spending time with your children on the coast?

We like to make the most of what the coast has to offer outdoors as much as possible. Our regular routines generally consist of spending time at the beach, going to different parks, shooting some hoops or taking a ride out in the neighbourhood. If the weather isn’t fantastic, we like to versus each other on some the arcade games or have a few games of ten pin bowling.

What is your favourite memory with your dad?

When I was very young I distinctively remember waiting at the front of the driveway for on a Friday afternoon for my Dad to finish work and walk down the hill from the train station. He would sometimes have picked up a Star Wars action figure for me and my brothers and is probably the reason why to this day I am still a big Star Wars fan. Almost 40 years later I still have the figures and will give them to my son.

What did you learn from your dad?

The importance of supporting your children in their passions and be actively involved. From a young age my Dad was available to support me as my interests changed and developed. As a result of that, now as an adult and a father I feel like I have a good range of skills and experiences to share with my son.

What do you do for yourself amongst the busy life of fatherhood?

Due to my Dad’s influence, I am a life long Star Wars fan so in my downtime I like to tinker with my collection and mess around with 3D modelling and printing.
